From concept to consumer, Darrel is responsible for the journey of the shoe. In his current position, which he has held since 2007, he directs merchandise planning and allocation, product development, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics and distribution efforts of the Company. Darrel continues to play an instrumental role in the optimization of the Company’s global supply chain in connection with acquisitions, international growth, and supply chain technology initiatives.
 
Darrel joined Payless ShoeSource in 1980 as a Store Manager Trainee and managed the Payless ShoeSource expansion into the northeastern U.S. Through a series of subsequent promotions, Darrel gained experience in stores merchandising and merchandise distribution and in 1996 was named Vice President of Retail Operations for the southwestern U.S. He was further promoted to Senior Vice President of Merchandise Distribution in 1999 and assumed oversight of Merchandise Planning in 2000. He served as Senior Vice President of Merchandise Distribution, Planning and Supply Chain from 2004 to 2007.
 
Before joining the Company, Darrel, 55, served in the United States Air Force.
