With more than 4,500 stores, three major distribution centers and corporate offices around the globe, the smallest of efforts can produce big results.

Stores

Through waste diversion, we have kept 33 percent of our stores' trash out of landfills in 2011, saving more than 90,000 trees, preventing 318,000 lbs. of air pollutants, and conserving 10,000 barrels of oil, 21 million kWh of electricity, more than 141 million liters of water and 15,000 cubic yards of landfill space.

In our retail stores, we are beginning to use carpet manufactured from recycled fibers, recycled carpet and we are testing energy management systems that reduce consumption and provide cost savings.

Offices

At our corporate offices we recycle aluminum, plastic, glass, newspapers, office paper and magazines, and are reducing energy consumption through small changes in our daily behaviors.

It all adds up to noticeable effects on our workspaces, our homes, our communities and our planet.
