Collective Brands Foundation
CBI Foundation Guidelines
The Collective Brands Foundation invests financially in nonprofit organizations that fit within one of our focus areas. Priority is given to organizations that provide involvement opportunities for our team members.
Areas of Focus
The Collective Brands Foundation will consider requests for monetary grants from nonprofit organizations that manage programs in at least one of the following areas:

Women’s Preventive Health
- Children’s Physical Activity and Fitness
- Improving the Lives of Children and Youth in Need
- Preserving our Environment
- Supporting our Industry
The foundation will also strategically respond to disaster relief efforts. Requests for in-kind donations will be considered but are rarely approved.
Sponsorships
The Foundation may consider unsolicited requests for sponsorships from charitable organizations located in one of the following areas:

Eastern Kansas, includes Topeka, Lawrence and the Kansas City metropolitan area

New York City
-
Lexington, Massachusetts and the Greater Boston area

Denver, CO
-
Redlands, CA
-
Brookville, OH
In these cases sponsorships outside of the Foundation’s focus areas may be considered if they align with other strategic goals of Collective Brands.
Grant Requirements and Restrictions
- Grant applicants must be 501(c)(3) organization.
- Applicants must fit within the areas of focus described above.
- The Foundation will only support grants to religious organizations for projects that are nonsectarian and benefit a broad community base.
- The Foundation will not award grants or in-kind donations to individuals.
- The Foundation will not fund political causes, candidates or legislative lobbying efforts.
- The Foundation will not award grants for capital campaigns, debt reduction, travel or conferences.
Grant Range
In general, grants can range up to $30,000.
Application Process
Applications will be reviewed quarterly by the Collective Brands Foundation. Only applications submitted through the Internet Grant Application Module (IGAM) will be accepted.

Application Deadlines
Applications are due by 5 p.m. CT on the following dates:

Applicants will be notified of decisions approximately ten weeks after the application deadline.
Procedures for Grant Seekers

All proposals must be submitted online by 5 p.m. CT on the due date through the IGAM.

Users will be prompted to create a username and password, unless one has been previously created.
