Band of Outsiders Designer Scott Sternberg Continues Men's Collection of Exclusive Boat Shoe Styles for Fall '11 and Spring '12 Seasons

Lexington, MA (October 25, 2011) — Designer Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders continues his collaboration with global nautical performance and lifestyle brand Sperry Top-Sider with an update to the Band of Outsiders for Sperry Top-Sider® collection for the Fall '11 and Spring '12 seasons.  The limited-edition shoe collections include a variety of modifications to Sperry’s® iconic Authentic Original boat shoe for men.

Inspired by Sperry Top-Sider’s® deeply rooted heritage and position as an icon of American style, the shoe designs were developed with an homage to classicism and menswear, while also featuring contemporary and whimsical design elements geared toward a modern, fashion-forward consumer.  The collections continue to feature many of the silhouettes and elements of the inspirational Authentic Original shoe style, revamped with Sternberg’s many unique design details.

Available in stores now, the Fall '11 Band of Outsiders for Sperry Top-Sider® collection ranges in price from $165-$240 and features a variety of classic boat shoe styles, along with tassel loafers, a stylish lace-up, a leather "boat boot" and "boat moccasins," featuring suede and wool materials.

Color is key for the Spring '12 collection, with boat shoe styles designed in pink, blue, green, orange and taupe.  Prints in the collection include a nautical navy and red printed canvas stripe and a denim tri-tone treatment.  A brown and black leather, grey taupe and red and yellow patent low boot moccasin will also be introduced. The Spring '12 collection, due out in Feb. 2012, will range in price from $160-$175.
