Vision Street Wear® Partners With Punk Band Cerebral Ballzy
Brooklyn band to endorse Vision footwear, apparel
(DENVER, CO) April 3, 2012 – Legendary skate and street wear brand Vision Street Wear® (Vision) announced today the addition of punk rock band Cerebral Ballzy to the Vision Crew. Dubbed “New York’s next great band” by the New Musical Express (NME), Cerebral Ballzy has toured the UK and Europe twice in the last year, performing with acts including OFF! and Anthrax. Notorious for their interest in beer, pizza and skateboarding, the members of Cerebral Ballzy are also known for their insanely energetic performances, claiming “every show’s the best show.” Under the new partnership, Cerebral Ballzy, represented by Williams Street Records, will endorse Vision footwear and apparel.
“Cerebral Ballzy makes a great addition to the Vision Crew,” said Bruce Pettet, President and CEO of Collective Licensing International, LLC, the company that owns the Vision brand. “Not only is the band’s old school, hardcore punk sound a great fit, these guys live the Vision lifestyle of skate hard and play hard.”
Led by frontman Honor Titus and bassist Melvin Honore, Cerebral Ballzy’s music tells – or rather screams – a story of broken homes, serious partying and skateboarding -all experiences of growing up in Brooklyn. The band released its debut, self-titled album last summer to acclaim and buzz from critics and fans. With songs like “Causing Havoc”, “Puke Song”, “Skate All Day” and “Cutting Class," Cerebral Ballzy takes a good time to a whole new level.
“We grew up watching skate videos, like the Bones Brigade video show, and have always been fans of Vision,” Titus said. “Skaters, punk rockers, hardcore kids and now high-fashion -- Vision is synonymous with keeping it real. Needless to say, that works for Cerebral Ballzy. We’re simply a bunch of kids that enjoy what we want to enjoy.”
